Weeds and Wheat

Weeds and Wheat

Master Gardener looks upon the field, growth sees.
Planted crop, strong winter wheat come to full stand;
‘Midst the flowing stalks, outliers’ independence decrees.
Common ground feeds each plant through roots grand.

We farm folk plan, plot, plant, our goals to accomplish now.
Crop etiquette often asks adjustment to make harvest full.
Uniform seeds, straight rows, furrowed feed mixed with a plow,
Growing to maturity Spirit blesses abundantly, no plant does cull.

Our personalities come from a vast collection of attributes real.
Psychology, sociology, physiology attempt to bring theory to bear,
Culture organizes itself around traits most marketable with zeal.
The self persistently draws together a presence Creator thinks fair.

Growing daily seems the most curious of life’s events.
Layers of interaction allow perspective with healthy ecology true.
Solitary individuals stand unique, their presence none prevents.
Mosaic most profound inclusive of all, respecting the few;

Co-creation brings a life-long practice of alignment with the truth.
Word Become Flesh actively works the field of life all His days.
The paradox of ‘wheat – weediness’ determined by context, forsooth;
Each living thing brings out the wonder of creation, showing Gods’ ways.

Look lovingly at the effects of history on your person.
Note the losses, the joys, the challenges, the success.
You have accumulated all that’s needed for this days’ run.
Intentional living notes each special ingredient a ripening process.

Spirit patiently assists each part of the greater design.
Wisdom guides the Master Gardner’s hand to prune or feed.
Word Become Flesh summons to a meal of bread and wine.
Our role: dance, serve, applaud, grow lusciously, plant seed.

Well here we are at our time of life in a field of joyful wonder.
Decide your role, wheat or weed, grow strong, be ever true.
Don’t let sin or fear or destruction bring you asunder.
Harvest time’s on the horizon, ‘tis a glorious view.
