Three Yet One

Three Yet One
             John 16.12-15

Mystery intrigues a lively mind.

Concepts occupy certain rooms within.

Spirituality releases theology’s bind.

Scripture’s well refreshes, grace erases sin.

Creator holds all in loving embrace.

Designs the day with a margin of joy;

Maintains eternity as a beginning place;

Engages any, all, their lives to employ.

Word Become Flesh crosses into history.

Lives actively ‘mongst smells, sounds, daily cares;

Born miraculously, toils alongside yet a mystery.

Heals, teaches, encourages, great challenges dares.

Spirit imbues life with effervescent wonder;

Constantly empowers Creator’s ideas, brings life.

Puckishly suggests “Sin’s power’s gone, totally asunder.”

Knows the deeper truth, stills all strife.

No better or lessor notion than Trinity will do.

Gathers the wholeness of the One to mind;

Elegantly lifts up The Others presence so true.

Prevents spiritual stagnation, sins constant bind;

Quantum physics hints at the wonder made real.

Mysticism attempts to explore the realm apart.

Contemplation enters sanctuary in quiet zeal.

Created truth becomes available in life’s cart.

Fear not the possibility Trinity makes available.

Plunge deep into this wondrous pool of grace.

Relax cultures notions, old saws no longer malleable,

Boldly enter the great cathedral, meet the One face to face.

How many holies shall we sing?

What word or words will suffice?

Can we all our hopes, joys, sorrows bring?

Into this day’s mission God will entice.

Love Light's Source

Love Light’s Source

Psalm 119.29-32

Come to the center where full breath meets empty.

Ascend downward to sanctuary, life’s verdant center.

Spread wide arms; hold close truth, let go sins tempting.

Spirit’s home hearth ‘tis heart’s holm, true mentor;

Creator holds created from this pivotal perspective.

No thing exists without its soul’s meaning in the deepest spot.

When meeting this truth one usually becomes reflective,

When growing from this understanding, better bring a cot.

Child-like wonder accompanies the pathway down.

Obstacles met released to tumble off the path.

Losses, regrets, besmirching acts bring a frown.

Forgiveness, mercy, grace abound not eternal wrath.

Beginning travelers see a glimmer awaiting, afar.

Seasoned journeyers hold center-light close by.

Glowing joy fills the day’s dark places nothing can mar.

Creations community never hinders only helps each fly.

Doubt not the honest struggle with ego’s needs.

From earliest awareness, each taught to survive at all cost.

Wisdom brings her gentle gardener’s hand planting love’s seeds.

Soulscapes sanctuary abounds with life only fear lost.

Word Become Flesh grew fully in our world.

He discovered early where His hearts center lay.

Family, friends, workmates Creator’s joy unfurl’d.

Each day a time apart necessary for health to stay;

Plato taught of Divines’ true spark.

Word Become Flesh brought out its cost.

Spirit dances free, sings loves joy as a lark.

Creator works constantly so that none is lost.

From the center power source live out this day.

Rest often, work hard, fear has no place to reside.

Love’s Light shines brightly each step of the way.

Our goal present now; in Triune Ones grace we abide.

Got A Minute?

Got A Minute?

Ascension Day, 9 May 2013

Daybreak, sunrise, a gentle awakening, clouds overhead.

My walk to the bulkhead crunched step by step to the beach.

Water’s up a bit, temperature pleasant, drowsiness fled,

Awaiting 0548, our eagle couple soared north, almost in reach.

Acts 1.1-11 read aloud, amazing view ‘cross to Saratoga Passage.

Luke’s rendition almost captures a screenplay scene.

Jesus post-resurrection band attempt to clarify the message,

“Will the kingdom come now or stay hidden behind a screen?”

With the patience of the Infinite, Jesus repeats Himself.

“Neither time nor season do I know, so ask not more.

What you must do is await Spirit’s coming herself.

When power, presence arrive, mission opens its door.”

Then happened the mystic sight; into the sky He arose.

Like a balloon released, disciples gazed, amazed, bereft;

Held by sudden departure, they missed the scene’s close.

Total solitude, they stood together, earth side of the cleft.

“Ahem! We see you gazing up into the heavenly spaces.

First our script says, ‘Be not afraid’, ‘tis angelic boiler-plate.

Your tears, your downcast looks, your quizzical faces,

Seem to belie a deeper need, perhaps an unsure fate.”

“Stay as you will or return to life in Jerusalem or Galilee.

Don’t be launching out with serious tread, down roads unknown.

Word Become Flesh has entered Heavens portals, He didn’t flee.

The ministry you’ve been building has love, justice, grace sown.”

“You’ve got a chance to find your place in this moment.

Be aware, breathe deep, find your bearings where you are.

Check-in with those close by, ‘Got a minute?’ a fine comment.

Be present, don’t just do stuff, life is now, not distant, afar.”

Well my friends, this festive day has once again come true.

The church year drama soon completes its first half.

Bring the presence of love to all you meet not just a few.

Be not afraid to boldly proceed, await Spirit’s hearty laugh.

Gut Rock of Hell

Gut Rock of Hell
Psalm 119.54-55

Each morn begins with a standing up,

From slumbers somnolence in night’s hours;

Wakefulness beckons “Rise, rejoice, sup.”

Come into this day, move from buds to flowers.

Creator’s design includes the whole scene.

Our world’s brokenness cannot be forsaken.

What surface best portrays reality most clean?

Hell’s gut rock floor holds solid never to be taken.

Cosmos held in Creator’s hands includes heaven and hell.

Gracious presence undergirds our spiritual, physical world.

We must never allow brokenness or sin’s separation to dwell.

This moment’s all there is, our mission’s soon unfurl’d.

Dare the possibility of wholeness based upon truth!

Child of the Triune One not just a ‘nom deplume’.

Being purely one’s self includes honesty forsooth.

Death’s a reality this day, not hidden away in a tomb.

Making one’s way through the demands that present,

Asks for resources available, right at hand;

Self-assessment from within, without never resent.

Join the joyful servants, Word Made Flesh’s band.

Once it was noted, “Perfection is Good Enough.”

With another observation, “Good Enough Often Perfect.”

Low esteem, victimhood, lackadaisical attitudes, slough;

Make community of love, grace, mercy, your prayerful collect.

Culture evolves by the gathering of attitudes good and bad.

People strive for meaning, need regular acknowledgment.

Spirit constantly leads to a destination far from sad.

We co-create our daily life, Adversary’s rule prevent.

Breathe deeply of life’s abundant, verdant atmosphere.

Lift up your eyes to the loving gaze of the One who knows.

Strengthen resolve, set courses true based on grace not fear.

Keep Creator’s backpack full of what Spirit stows.
