Gut Rock of Hell
Psalm 119.54-55
Each morn begins with
a standing up,
From slumbers
somnolence in night’s hours;
Wakefulness beckons “Rise,
rejoice, sup.”
Come into this day,
move from buds to flowers.
Creator’s design
includes the whole scene.
Our world’s
brokenness cannot be forsaken.
What surface best
portrays reality most clean?
Hell’s gut rock floor
holds solid never to be taken.
Cosmos held in
Creator’s hands includes heaven and hell.
Gracious presence
undergirds our spiritual, physical world.
We must never allow
brokenness or sin’s separation to dwell.
This moment’s all
there is, our mission’s soon unfurl’d.
Dare the possibility
of wholeness based upon truth!
Child of the Triune One
not just a ‘nom deplume’.
Being purely one’s
self includes honesty forsooth.
Death’s a reality
this day, not hidden away in a tomb.
Making one’s way
through the demands that present,
Asks for resources
available, right at hand;
Self-assessment from
within, without never resent.
Join the joyful
servants, Word Made Flesh’s band.
Once it was noted, “Perfection
is Good Enough.”
With another
observation, “Good Enough Often Perfect.”
Low esteem,
victimhood, lackadaisical attitudes, slough;
Make community of
love, grace, mercy, your prayerful collect.
Culture evolves by
the gathering of attitudes good and bad.
People strive for
meaning, need regular acknowledgment.
Spirit constantly
leads to a destination far from sad.
We co-create our
daily life, Adversary’s rule prevent.
Breathe deeply of
life’s abundant, verdant atmosphere.
Lift up your eyes to
the loving gaze of the One who knows.
Strengthen resolve,
set courses true based on grace not fear.
Keep Creator’s
backpack full of what Spirit stows.
