Ah The Pain

Ah the Pain

Word Become Flesh bids us, “Come die in Me.”
Certain gravity comes to life with each moments’ death.
We are asked to walk through the day not flee.
Spirit reminds us of the gift of each breath.

Mentors lift up the wonder of life eternal.
They focus our intentions on this ‘now’ alone.
Attuned, attentive, Creator holds the supernal.
Ours the wonder of life lived close to the bone.

Breathe deep, note the underlying pain.
Don’t medicate or deny or rush away.
As Thomas found in touch, life did gain.
We come alive to love living through this day.

Many the paths that skip growth, compassion;
Removal of challenge to body, heart, mind;
Consequently spiritual muscles atrophy, lose passion;
Disciples follow each moment of the day, life to find.

Open up both hands, hold the pain lightly.
Note its’ etiology, from whence it came.
Bravely offer it, let Spirit fill, dance sprightly.
Awaken to the rhythm of life, walk free not lame.

Can there be a better learning than what brings truth?
What easy lesson has ever been long standing?
Seek not the hurt, worry not over the uncouth.
In community plenteous pain grows, health demanding.

Dietrich reminds that disciples come, follow, die.
Smiles break as sunrise when love leads the way.
Seeds planted transform into bird bushes high.
A hearty servant will never let a bruised ego stay.

Sisters, brothers know Word Become Flesh’s touch.
Bind the wounds, let Creator do the healing.
Dance freely this day, Spirit promises much.
Pain subsides, replaced by grace’s soothing feeling.

Wholeness Means Wellness

Wholeness Means Wellness
In celebration of Paul and David’s Wedding

Wholeness often requires moments of celebration.
Years of faithful partnership culminate in a champagne toast.
Culture rights wrong conclusions after contemplation.
Love rises up in truth’s presence, humbly stated not in boast.

Often marriage begins, “In the presence of God and these witnesses…”
Then again, love summons two people well before the service.
Delighting in each other, these men endure countless stresses.
 Kind hearted servants par excellence, willing to make liars nervous.

Creator uses magnificence to go about the daily chore.
Spirit constantly summons all living to engage their skills.
Word Become Flesh never hesitated to open wide love’s door.
Trinity requires humble presence, belief, submission of wills.

This official beginning pronounces our infantile state.
Two individuals become one, happens only with God’s math.
Church, culture, society, inclusiveness becomes a trait.
None who would be true followers can deny sin’s wrath.

Wellness reminds all that life finds this moment true.
Fractured lives do not bring joy, health shows its’ glow.
Community gathers to keep these powerful men in view.
All faithful partners rejoice in seeds of joy they sow.

Be assured, God pervades all, embraces all, is the center.
Any choices we make, directions we take, victories we win,
Must account for the One who brings truth as our Mentor;
When all meet with their Maker, we cast out sin.

Today sets a foundational stone in life’s solid floor.
No stubbly crevice or toe-catching lift, ‘tis servant smooth.
Because Word Become Flesh leads these men who adore,
We can walk alongside, work for justice, God’s truth.

May the future bring joy, wholeness complete.
May our celebrations build on this one, now done.
May Creator be praised who knows no defeat.
May we constantly find joy, the victory’s won.

Dance Floor's Open

Dance Floor’s Open

2 Corinthians 2.14

Nothing personal, but be assured you’re invited.
Creator extends blessing to every molecule in space.
Spirit rejoices in the gathering of all, totally delighted.
Word Become Flesh accomplished the plan, salvation’s grace.

Inclusion means a zero tolerance policy for “religion’s bucket-seat”.
Abundant life has no hedge ‘round or stifling moral squeeze.
Invitation to come dance goes out clearly to all who hear the beat.
The joyful message best noted in the inclusiveness of morning breeze.

‘Tis not our dance-floor, nor our invitation process;
We are invited guests expected to attend with gusto.
This moment’s the only one we have, let’s process.
Bring one, bring all, meet on the floor, heigh ho!

Jesus constantly confounds those of exclusionary bent.
His arms surround the entire creation in loving embrace.
His mission: God’s love; justice; peace; heal sin’s rent.
Each beloved of the Creator touched freely by grace.

Never fear the lack of joy or an infectious beat to follow.
Spirit knows each one’s way, provides song to meet each need.
Pause this very moment, breathe love’s air, fill the hollow;
Creation’s dance continues abundant, sustaining crop, weed.

Feel at ease during the dance, take breaks as needed.
Slow dance with intimates, rock out with new friends.
Stay attuned to love, compassion, justice seeded.
Our brief lives count to God, Trinity sets the trends.

Wall-flower moments will occur so tremble with fear.
Feeling alone, forsaken, unwanted, part of the deal;
Word Become Flesh will meet you, he’s ever near.
Just be true as you can, learn to be real.

Sisters, brothers I hear the next set starting.
Come out to celebrate this day’s fine events.
Work up a sweat, dance free, joy imparting.
Life joyfully lived means no worry over dents.
