Dancing Shadows
Ah, deep the breath
that settles the heart.
This day promises its
blessings, its pain.
Pathway vegetation
flourishes, the ‘now’ does start.
Creator encourages an
adventurous traveler in sun, rain.
What will guide this day’s
mission?
Has my life’s pack
all resources needed?
Are my trusted
companions commissioned?
Am I rested, ready or
is my brow fatigue beaded?
Spirit assembles all
the necessary gear.
Word Made Flesh, hand
on shoulder, smiles.
Creator abundantly
provides just enough confidence, fear.
Together we begin our
travel each step adds into miles.
Be aware of context,
look about, sniff the air.
Does sunlight play ‘mongst
the shadows real?
Light defined by
darkness brings vision fair.
Interior wisdom must
grow strong; how do I feel?
Shadow prompts from
awareness of other’s acts.
Christ referred to
splinters, logs in ones’ eyes.
Shadow paths get worn
in by choices, painful facts.
Spiritual living has
high definition, truth never lies.
Jung explored the inner
jungle, a deep, tangled maze.
Honest venturers
assess skills, weaknesses, gifts.
In trusted converse
open up taboos, lusts, doubts raise.
Spirit brings
boldness, relationships true; Satan loves rifts.
Therapy often begins,
“What don’t we want to discuss?”
Many an adolescent
lives out a ripe old age in denial.
Shadow-work done
daily will never faithful life crush.
A powerful spice on
the trek, always met by Christ’s smile;
Spirit never shirks
from life’s full expression, powerful beat.
With healthy hearts,
honest minds, strong muscles enter in.
Our dance-floor,
life, meant for daily living not the rare treat.
Word Become Flesh
partners each one, has overcome sin.
