Healthy Laughter
Shadow-work often
begets deep regret.
Shame-faced visage,
non-verbal moans.
Disconcerted, ego
expresses loss of control, will fret.
Successful dishonesty
looks for rescue, just groans.
Slowly the shadow
becomes mapped, extent known.
Has the light gotten
neglected, squelched to a nub?
Rampant shadow-self in
my fertile fields seeds sown.
How shall I root out,
cast away or erasure rub?
Seldom somber Spirit
shows up on the scene.
“You say this shadow-self
a constant struggle.”
“Your estimate of
your light-self needs a scrub clean.”
“You’ve read Potter, don’t act the foolish Muggle!”
“You’ve read Potter, don’t act the foolish Muggle!”
“One by one bring the
shadow elements into the light.”
“Adults regularly
clean out, identify the clutter.”
“Can you conceive of
an action, thought, belief with its blight,
That causes Creator,
Word Made Flesh or myself to mutter?”
“In fact, your
courageous examination of your whole self,
Causes The One God a
high degree of hilarity;
You, a child of
light, taking seriously all the stuff on your shelf,
Means the Adversary
will lose again, our mission will gain clarity.”
“Folks who attempt
your task with only fear, determination, alone,
Set up a hopeless
process, it’s lost from the get-go.
Shadow-work profits
best when I guide it with hope, grace sown.
Shake out the
stuff-sacks, scrape clean the corners, get in the know.”
“Satan loves the
attention of doom, gloom, despair, sins’ fracture.
Meticulous
confession, deadly honest owning up, decisive action,
Force the truth to
its conclusion, Christ has won eternal life to capture.
Shadow embraced, no
longer false fears, dumb regrets in the caption.”
“So here’s the
ultimate response to the Adversary’s hold upon you.
Look the old Fraud in
the eye; note your support, chuckle.
We’ve got your back,
our eternal presence will ever be true.
With relief let loose
a belly laugh, totally unbuckle.”
